Graduate Students & Postdocs (available)

Looking for motivated graduate students (PhD and MSc) for a multidisciplinary team to take a lead in a research about:

  • Regenerative and Meta-Stable Materials
      • Metal-halide perovskites for photo voltaic applications, 
      • MXene phase for functionality enhancement, 
      • Covalent Glasses for neuromorphic applications
    • Skills to be learned/required
      • Characterization: electrochemistry, optoelectronics, charge transport measurements, structural and morphological analysis, micro-structural characterizations, thermal characterizations, structural analysis
      • Synthesis: solid-state synthesis, wet-chemistry, electrochemical synthesis, nano-fabrication, photovoltaic-device fabrication, thin films
    • Relevant background: materials science and engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, and related. 
  • Method development of advanced structural characterization techniques for decoding the evolution of meta-stable materials
    • Skills to be learned/required: Transmission electron microscopy and diffraction, 4D-STEM, X-ray and electron Total-scattering and pair-distribution function analysis, in-situ experiment control, data science, and machine learning
    • Relevant background: materials science and engineering, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science and related. 
  • Algorithm development and implementation of image-processing and machine learning for data-driven material synthesis and characterization
    • Skills to be learned/required: Data harvesting and analysis for chemical and materials science and engineering. Correlation extraction in high-dimensional synthesis space 
    • Relevant background: Compute science, applied mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials engineering, chemical engineering, and related.  

Curious and enthusiastic undergraduate students are invited to reach out regarding an engineer-project or a research-assistant positions.

We are looking for a lab manager/ engineer with a background in chemistry, biology, chemical/materials/mechanical/electrical engineering, and related fields. 

Responsibilities

  • Will be involved in the decision-making process while building the lab.
  • responsible on a chemical synthesis lab (inorganic) and a characterization lab (electronic, optical, optoelectronic, and thermal characterization):
  • responsible for safety
  • responsible for a fluent operation of the lab
  • equipment maintenance
  • guiding students

Qualifications (required):

  • Masters's degree, or Bachelor's degree with experience in the industry.
  • Familiar with working in a chemical lab.
  • Good technical skills and experience with operating electrical/optical characterization equipment

Highly appreciated (but optional) qualifications:

  • experience with the maintenance of glove-box and vacuum systems
  • in-situ/operando experimental setup construction and control.
  • x-ray/electron chemical and structural analysis
  • big-data analysis/operation
