Shaked Biton | Lab Manager
Background: My name is Shaked, I’m a materials engineering student at Ben-Gurion University. Just before starting the final year of my B.Sc. degree, I took some time to think deeply about where I see myself in the coming years, what truly intrigues me, and how I can achieve these goals.
Scientific interests : I have a strong interest in the study of 2D materials, their unique optical and electronic properties, and their exciting uses in advanced technologies. I’m also fascinated by electronic and optoelectronic devices especially, as you might already assume, the tiny ones. And so, I’m drawn to nanoscale systems such as transistors, optical communication devices, and perovskite-based materials that bridge optics and electronics.
I plan to begin my M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering next year, specializing in electro-optics — where I hope to combine my materials background with my passion for nanophotonics and semiconductor research.
Hobbies: I enjoy good food — cooking, dining out, and trying new things. I’ve recently developed a hobby for running, alongside my love for hiking and traveling. In my daily routine, I like to end the day playing board games with friends.
